For long-time supporters, friends and family who want to keep in touch with all things Malawi and Tilitonse Community Centre

Pillar is a giving community with access to a WhatsApp group with fortnightly updates, just about Tilitonse, where you’ll hear what’s going on day-to-day, get prayer requests and give prayer requests. It’ll link you closely to the community centre and give you real-life progress and life-changing stories from Tilitonse.

It’s a different way to give. A very tangible way to give.

You’ll know exactly where your £15 is going, you’ll be able to see the faces and names impacted by your giving, and you’ll feel more connected than ever to the work we do here in Malawi.

We’re excited to share life with you, and we hope you feel the same!

To talk, to eat, to laugh and dare to dream...

It’s all these things... and so much more!

You heard Tilitonse had funding, so why this ask?

You're right, Pillar Church donated enough funds to give our community centre a revival. This funding has changed the centre. It will cover two and a half years of staff and maintenance.

Your funds will cover supplies and extracurricular activities, and in time, the long term sustainability of the centre.

In just one year of support, Tilitonse has erupted (in all the good ways).

Anne can read and write. She voted for the first time using a pen instead of her thumbprint last year.

The main reason most adults want to learn to read so they can read a Bible.

Between 80 and 100 children receive porridge every day, in a time where Malawi is struggling economically, and the cost of living is rising uncontrollably.

Children have a real aptitude for games, crafts, puzzles and reading, skills that wouldn’t be nurtured if it wasn’t for the centre.

Football tournaments have brought the community together and helped fundraise some monies towards a community guard so everyone can have 24/7 access to the site and the water pump (clean, safe water).

Students from Horton Secondary School come up to the centre to study, ask questions and practise their English.

Shereen (Centre Manager) is now on the board of trustees for the secondary school and runs afternoon IT classes, something the school lacks.

The progress and change around the centre is electric.

And we want to safeguard it for future children, adults and young people in our community, that starts today with the Pillar Community.

Pillar Community, a big vision full of hope

Pillar is a community of Tilitonse supporters, old, new and everyone in between, holding up this haven in Malawi with financial as well as prayer support. Pillar community has a common goal, to equip and enable young people and children to access better schools, better jobs and start thriving businesses of their own.

To inspire this community to carry vision and dream big things, trusting God with the little they have but growing in the wealth they’ve been given through Tilitonse.

If this is the first time we've done this. How do we know Pillar will work?

As a charity and NGO we’ve been exploring ways to use technology to decrease the miles between Malawi and our global supporters.

Madzi Alipo logs all its work on an open-access platform, Madzi Alipo Management System (MAMS), because we want to be transparent about where your funds are going and the impact donations make.

Two years ago we launched “Rooted” a monthly community where you drop into The tree project once a month and get monthly emails. It’s never had a dropout, and the community is growing. Click here for more info.

Tilitonse is the next place we feel we can manage ongoing international dialogue and intensive levels of reporting without compromising on day-to-day impact. Yes, things may change as we discover what works and what doesn’t, but we invite you to come on that journey with us!

These open strategies to link you with Malawi are exciting for us. We love the relationships they nurture and the feeling of togetherness.

We are one on this planet, and the care you have for our work in Malawi is appreciated beyond words. As a team, we want to give back as much information, fun and thanks as we can.
